Frequently asked questions
What is GetKarry?
GetKarry is a mobile marketplace that connects people who want goods bought and delivered from abroad (Requesters) with travellers willing to buy and carry those goods for a fee (Carriers). All transactions are protected by a built-in escrow payment system.
How does GetKarry work?
A Requester posts what they need, or a Carrier posts an upcoming trip. The two sides agree on a product price and carrying fee. The Requester deposits the total into escrow. The Carrier buys and delivers the goods, the Requester confirms receipt, and the escrow is released to the Carrier.
How does the escrow protect me?
Funds are held by GetKarry until the Requester confirms the goods have been received. Carriers know payment is secured before they purchase, and Requesters only release funds when they are satisfied with the delivery.
What are GetKarry’s fees?
Requesters pay a 5% platform fee on the total transaction value (product price plus carrying fee). Carriers pay a flat LAK 3,000 fee per completed order, deducted from their payout. There is no subscription or sign-up fee.
Which routes does GetKarry support today?
GetKarry is live on the Vientiane ↔ Udon Thani / Nong Khai corridor between Laos and Thailand. Future corridors include Laos ↔ Japan and Laos ↔ Australia.
How do I become a Carrier?
Download the GetKarry app, register as a Carrier, post the trips you are taking, and set your own carrying fees. Once a Requester accepts, you buy the items, deliver them, and get paid out of escrow.
What happens if there is a problem with my order?
Either party can raise a dispute through the app. Both sides submit evidence within 48 hours, and GetKarry reviews the case and decides the escrow outcome. Most disputes are resolved within 7 business days.
Who can use GetKarry?
Anyone aged 15 or older who can legally enter into a contract under the laws of the Lao PDR. Users can act as Requesters, Carriers, or both within the same account.
